My 13th Mindfulness Tip : Beauty Treatments!
Why are beauty treatments mindfulness? Why? Because they are using your senses : smell (scented candles or incense in the room), sight (sighting on your beautiful self makes you feel better about yourself overall) and lastly touch, the professional is touching your body to make you feel good about yourself.
Beauty treatments include : facials, pedicure and manicure, massage therapy, spa treatment and a make-over. It feels great to apply the make-up on your skin, why? Because it’s touching your skin and it’s using a force and a pressure to do so.
Why does a facial feel good? Because feeling the mask on your face is using your touch again. You’re feeling the mask’s effects on your skin, the clean feeling afterwards make you feel good about yourself.
Now, about pedicures and manicures : it’s because the professional doing this for you is touching your nails with nail gel and clipping it. And you’re feasting your eyes on a beautiful shade on them. This is why it feels good to you.
And spa treatments, why does bathing feel good? Because you’re feeling the water on your body, again using your touch, using a force and a certain pressure on your body to make you feel good about yourself. This is why.
Lastly, a complete make-over. Why does dressing up feel so good? Because it’s using your touch and your sight. Putting on make-up, beauty products and clothes feels good to anyone (yes, even some males do it too) because you’re sighting yourself on beauty and perfection. It’s touching your body to make you feel that you exist. Anyways, personally, I feel good in my clothes and make-up and jewelry and accessories. I have to put them on every day. Without them, I feel naked. So yeah, that’s just me though.
